Variation in Soil Bacterial and Fungal Community Composition at Different Successional Stages of a Broad-Leaved Korean Pine Forest in the Lesser Hinggan Mountains

چکیده

Soil microorganisms are an integral part of the soil and highly sensitive to environmental changes. The shift in plant community properties following forest succession may cause differences bacterial fungal composition. Some studies suggested community, species composition tends switch from r-strategy groups k-strategy groups. However, generalization on changing pattern has not been worked out. Three forests at early-, intermediate-, late-stage (ES, IS, LS) broad-leaved Korean pine Lesser Hinggan Mountains were surveyed study variation as proceeds. microbial related factors analyzed by systematic sampling. Significant detected between different stages. diversity increased, while decreased (p < 0.05) early late successional forest. fungi bacteria ratio (F/B) (Proteobacteria + Bacteroidetes) (Actinobacteria Acidobacteria) increased substantially with 0.05). At phylum level, Bacteroidetes, Ascomycota Mortierellomycota dominant ES forest, Actinobacteria Basidiomycota prevalent LS class Gammaproteobacteria, Acidobacteriia, Bacteroidia, Sordariomycetes Mortierellomycetes whereas Subgroup_6, Agaricomycetes, Geminibasidiomycetes Tremellomycetes water content (SWC) available phosphorus (AP) had significant effects organic carbon (SOC), total nitrogen (TN), carbon–nitrogen (C/N), potassium (TK) SWC SOC TN positively correlated significantly negatively Our results suggest that changed across stages, switched differed changes resulted shifting ecological strategies.

Seasonal variation in carbon dioxide exchange over a 200-year-old Chinese broad-leaved Korean pine mixed forest

Long-term measurement of carbon metabolism of old-growth forests is critical to predict their behaviors and to reduce the uncertainties of carbon accounting under changing climate. Eddy-covariance technology was applied to investigate the long-term carbon exchange over a 200-year-old Chinese broad-leaved Korean pine mixed forest of Forest Ecosystem Open Research Station of Changbai Mountains (1...

Similar Processes but Different Environmental Filters for Soil Bacterial and Fungal Community Composition Turnover on a Broad Spatial Scale

Spatial scaling of microorganisms has been demonstrated over the last decade. However, the processes and environmental filters shaping soil microbial community structure on a broad spatial scale still need to be refined and ranked. Here, we compared bacterial and fungal community composition turnovers through a biogeographical approach on the same soil sampling design at a broad spatial scale (...

Changes in Forest Soil Properties in Different Successional Stages in Lower Tropical China

BACKGROUND Natural forest succession often affects soil physical and chemical properties. Selected physical and chemical soil properties were studied in an old-growth forest across a forest successional series in Dinghushan Nature Reserve, Southern China. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS The aim was to assess the effects of forest succession change on soil properties. Soil samples (0-20 cm dept...

Responses of Fine Roots and Soil N Availability to Short-Term Nitrogen Fertilization in a Broad-Leaved Korean Pine Mixed Forest in Northeastern China

Knowledge of the responses of soil nitrogen (N) availability, fine root mass, production and turnover rates to atmospheric N deposition is crucial for understanding fine root dynamics and functioning in forest ecosystems. Fine root biomass and necromass, production and turnover rates, and soil nitrate-N and ammonium-N in relation to N fertilization (50 kg N ha(-1) year(-1)) were investigated in...
